The Womack Sisters, Kucha, Zeimani, and BG Womack, were singing before they could walk. Their 2026 self-titled debut album, The Womack Sisters, is the musical culmination of the Sisters’ long journey to find themselves. Over an intensely soulful collection of tunes, each of their distinct voices have their moments in the spotlight.

The Sisters grew up on the road. Their schools were stages and studios all over the world, where they sang behind their parents, Zekkariyas & Zeriiya (fka Womack & Womack), alongside their four siblings. Nowhere was home for long. No matter where they lived — London, Amsterdam, Kenya, Paris, New York, Miami, West Virginia, the Bahamas — they were always surrounded by music and family.

When your veins run with legacy, there are big shoes (and arenas) to fill. The trio are the daughters of Linda and Cecil Womack, who made R&B records in the eighties and their grandfather is legend Sam Cooke.

In August, the trio will release The Womack Sisters, their self-titled debut, on Daptone Records. “This song reminds me of a time when I rushed into love because of attraction: not asking enough questions, not staying true to myself, selling myself short,” Kucha Womack said in a statement. “For us, it’s a reminder to take your time to find love, and to find out who you’re really dealing with.”

Based in Los Angeles, the Womack Sisters have been searching for their breakthrough moment over the past several years. Prior to their debut album, they released an EP, Legacy, in 2022. Compared to the early previews of their forthcoming Daptone record, Legacy was a much more contemporary take on R&B, even if it also included a rendition of Cooke’s immortal “A Change is Gonna Come.”
